ZECO TRAVEL TALK

A Community Blog for Zegrahm & Eco Expeditions Travelers

User’s Guide

So, you’re all set and ready to tell us about your amazing experiences in Zeco Travel Talk (our Travel Blog) and share your photos (in our Photo Gallery). Here are a few guidelines:

Travel blog
Anyone can comment on existing posts (also known as blog entries). However, you need to register before you can comment. Registration is simple; all you need to do is provide your name and e-mail address, and we’ll take care of the rest. Once you’ve registered, you will be able to comment as frequently as you like, and you’ll see your comments appear live on the site shortly (during normal business hours). Why do we need your e-mail? So that we can contact you if you have questions we might not be able to answer online. (Rest assured that it is our company policy that we do not share or sell our email list.)

The Travel Blog entries are primarily related to our trips, although there may be other entries about news or general interest topics. When you visit the Travel Blog main page, the most recent entries appear at the top. Typically, these are entries about trips currently under way, or those recently returned. There will also be a corresponding photo album in the Photo Gallery section where you’ll be able to see and share photos from this particular trip.

A few moderation notes
Zeco Travel Talk will be a moderated site. That means we just want to be sure everyone stays on topic (travel) and that the posts are of interest to our readers (travelers) and their families and friends. We also reserve the right to refuse any comment submissions that do not relate to Zegrahm & Eco Expeditions destinations, that are overly negative in tone, and that contain profanity or ethnic slurs. We will post your comments as quickly as possible and therefore ask for your patience when a reply is requested. If you have questions for a specific field staff member, please be aware that our staff travels—a lot—and email contact is not always possible.

And finally, please do not use Zeco Travel Talk for personal customer service issues. We always want to hear about your concerns or answer your questions—but please phone us or e-mail us directly and we’ll put you in touch—right away—with the appropriate person here in the office. (206) 285-4000 or (800) 628-8747.

Photo Gallery
The Photo Gallery is a great place for you to see and share photos from recent Zegrahm & Eco Expeditions. Anyone can view images in the gallery. If you would like to add your own photos, you will need to be a registered user. If you’ve already registered as described above in the Travel Blog section, then you’re all ready to go.

The Photo Gallery is album-based. Typically, there will be a corresponding album for each trip-based blog entry. On the main page of the Photo Gallery, you will see a list of all the available albums in the gallery. Once you choose an album to view (by clicking its thumbnail) you will be able to view the contents of that album.

There are also special Photographer’s Albums. These are photo albums that we set up for you where you can upload images, print photos on Shutterfly, or download to your computer. Each of the Photographer’s Albums may have different capabilities, depending on the photographer—it’s their choice. If you would like your own Photographer’s Album, just let us know, and we will be happy to set one up for you. Please follow this link to request your own photo album.

A few technical notes
Zegrahm recommends uploading only JPEG files. Most digital cameras shoot JPEG files by default. Advanced digital photographers often shoot photos in RAW format, and we recommend converting them to JPEG before adding to the gallery. RAW format photos are not supported. Also, high end digital cameras are often able to shoot high-resolution photos that may be too large to add to the gallery. Files larger than 2MB cannot be uploaded to the gallery. If your photos are too large, resize them with a digital photo tool such as Adobe Photoshop.
